Extension of Hiring action PA40

Hello Gurus,

I need help how to solve this problem:

Employee has a contract from 01.01.2022 to 31.01.2022. and its entered via PA40 hiring action.

But in meantime employer decided to extend his contract for one more month. So what would be the best way to accomplish this since when creating first entry we also got second record regarding contract cancelation/leave from 01.02.2022. to 31.12.9999.

We tried making new action like Rehiring or Extension of contract, but that second record makes us to lose one day, and it starts from 02.02.2022.

Any advice is welcome, thanks 🙂

One of the option is to update the second record of contract cancelation/leave from 01.02.2022 to 01.03.2022.

When the contract is extended, isn't it logical to modify the second action?

Hello Michael,

We decided to go with hiring action from 01.01.2022 to 31.12.9999, and then if contract should be extended we will execute new action that we made (Extension of contract) and with that we get new record and historical data.

In case if contract should not be extended we will just use action for termination.

It works for our client.
