Change idustrial sector

Dear guru's,

Can I change my industrial sector from chemical industy to mechanical industiry?

If yes, then how I can change it? and Also any impact on accounting entries will happen?

Please suggest.

It will help me alot.

Hi Nilesh,

in mm01 you have to copy the same material to new material by mentioning industry sector mechanical industry.

But the thing is your material number will change.

Industrial sector cannot be changed. Reason

Industry sector in material master is linked to screen group view selection for materil master. While creating if you enter the industrial sector as M. The view required for that sector is picked automatically, and the material type also is linked to industry sector. So you cannot change that after creation.

Now Can any body tell me wat is the differance between material master fields for specific industrial setcor.

Ex. In between Chemical and Mechanical.

or Chemical and Pharmaceutical idustrial sector.

Industrial Sector cannot be changed after creation of material master.
