BOM explosion with price at components level and consumption of header on stock

Dear SAP cloud community, 

I have a specific case with a client. 

They would like to have an explosion of BOM in the sales order with pricing at components level but consume the header item on stock and not the components. 

This was possible in the on-premise version of SAP via the customizing of item categories. However, in S4HC, the customizing of item categories is not allowed. 

I explored the standards of sap (scope item 31Q for sales kits and displays) but the standards do not meet the business requirements of my client. 

Do you have any ideas on what can I develop to meet this business requirement? BAPIs, custom logic,...?

Dear Amelie,

the functionality was delviered by SAP and in Test Script 31Q and BNK it is explained how to set it up with the DISH Scenario.

But till now not for Third Party Shipment, Customer Consignment and so one.

Some functionalities are planned to be delviered within 2402.

Hello Amelie,

SAP is planning to release a new BOM variant (ERLA and LUMF are already available) in 2108 release. With the new variant, you can have price at BOM header level and logistics at BOM sub-item level.

Unfortunately, I do not think a variation that you are requesting for (i.e. logistics at header level and pricing at sub-item level) is planned. You can request for it in the influence portal.

Unfortunately, we don't cover these combinations. We only have ERLA and LUMF.
