AddOn Install Problem, SAP 8.8 Bug?

Hi all,

I have a problem with Professional Installer AddOn in Win 7 64 bits, SAP B1 8.8 PL12.

I build successfully the setup and all seems to work fine. I tested install and uninstall.

-) For install tests I register the addon in AddOn Manager, checking the u201Cinstall as part of the registrationu201D option.

-) For uninstall test I remove the addon in AddOn Manager, Close B1, Open B1 and logon.

Now I explain the problem:

1) If I disable UAC install and uninstall works fine.

2) If I enable UAC install works fine but uninstall doesnu2019t work with a message similar to u201Ccannot find AddOn removal programu201D

Now I verified that at the moment of uninstall error (UAC enabled), the folder containing the Addon setup program

C:\Users\Marco\AppData\Local\Temp\$$B1ADDONINSTALL$$\$$SMO_SmartOne$$ 

is missing.

I think this is a B1 Bug because for some strange reason B1 deletes the setup program when UAC is enabled.

Any Ideas?

Hi Edward, thanks for the quick response.

I read the SAP note you mentioned, but Iu2019m not sure it is related to my problem.

I changed the B1 Installer professional for my AddOn to avoid running B1 "as Administrator".

The installer prompts the User for UAC elevation, but only during the AddOn Installation.

I will do some new tests on other machine and I will post the results.
