Wednesday 2nd November: SAP Maidenhead, the majority of SAP Public Cloud ERP partners met for the first time, probably since the Dublin summit back in June of this year.

We had planned an agenda that was intended to help our partners plan their business’ growth for 2023 and beyond.

We want the partners to look at how they can add incremental revenue from their existing client base and help them close more deals easier and quicker, lowering their cost of acquisition and improving the bottom line, without resorting to lower prices! And YES –  we did get the brilliant rainer.zinow on team call!

A very positive update on the sales for FY2022 from Michael Egan started the day on an upbeat note with more good news forecast for Q4 and FY2023.

Key points were:

  • Net New Name growth continues YOY in SME

  • Global results are in line with expectations

  • SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, Public Edition is set for volume in 2023

Following Michael, we were privileged to have Rainer Zinow call in from Walldorf. Rainer filled in the detail for us on side-by-side extensions with SAP Business Technology Platform and why this GTM Strategy makes sense, SAP and partners can build one extension and re-use it across multiple SAP solutions.

SAP has the first solution available now,

SAP Product Footprint Management for Clean Operations.

And of course no Rainer meeting is complete without a quick demo! this time he shared how to utilise low-code/no-code tools in SAP Business Technology Platform to build apps.

The source code can be found here SAP SME GitHub

As always, Rainer’s insight was powerful, positive and encouraging. Partners were left in no doubt that they will continue to be supported by SAP, but now is the time to adapt SAP Business Technology Platform as a way to create new processes and modules and thereby increase the addressable market for SAP Public Cloud ERP.

Rainer’s Key Points:

  • Look at Extensions to increase solution footprint and market penetration

  • Skill-Up now for SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, Public Edition

This last topic, enabled the agenda to segue nicely into a more detailed view of the SAP Business Technology Platform from the SAP BTP Specialists sohailmohammed and renaud.petit.sap

Sharing some great content and customer success stories, Sohail and Renaud covered the reasons and business case for all partners to have SAP BTP in their Sales Kit Bag for 2023 – not just for integration cases, but for any app/idea/process not covered in either SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition or SAP Business ByDesign

Some of the key points:

  • SAP Business Technology Platform is a unified, open platform designed to enable business processes.

  • Rapid Development/Prototyping is enabled with simple LC/NC environment

  • Priced to work in the SME Marketplace

To prove how easy it is to utilise SAP Business Technology Platform in live environment, we had david.thorne from Sapphire Systems show how it was possible to automate the updates of Exchange Rates into an ERP system – all built on SAP Business Technology Platform.

Other partners also presented some of their solutions, andrew_drake_ from Orchardhouse Solutions did his best to make journal entries interesting, with their Landed Costs Solution – an alternative to the recent update from SAP.

One of the newest partners to SAP Cloud ERP in the UK is percipere they did a great job in presenting to us their warehouse scanning solution.

Probably the most relevant presentation of the day came from janice.winfield Partner Solution Adoption EMEA North MU lead. Janice has so much experience and advice to help partners grow in the SME marketplace it was difficult to know what to leave out of her presentation!

  1. The Magic of  Qualified Partner Packages:

2. There is even a podcast – check it out here

3. Use the Digital Marketing Campaign Hub – great content, always updated

The end of the day saw presentations from john.meadows and adam.lalor reviewing the new Partner Competency Framework and discussing the “Cloud Mindset” and how the fit to standard approach when implementing SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, Public Edition and SAP Business ByDesign can lead to faster implementations, reduced escalations and fast time to value for the customer.

A BIG thanks to all the presenters who gave their time, and huge shot-out to the partners for showing up, sharing ideas and networking with their peers. We had some great feedback too.

Partner Feedback:

It was a great chance to meet face-to-face again in a smaller setting to discuss the shared challenges and opportunities amongst the other UKI partners and also catch up generally after a busy year – paul.mcnally1

Just a quick note to say Thank You for the UK SAP Partner Summit you organised last week.  It’s great to have a focussed platform to discuss all things around Cloud ERP, and the relevant trends and insights across the Mid-Market.  I found the content and length of the sessions to be just right. – kirit.patel

Great to spend some focussed time with the wider SAP community. A well-run day, with relevant content that acted as a good platform to network, discuss challenges and explore opportunities. Looking forward to the next one. – Dan Bolger, Codestone.

Just a quick email to thank you for hosting the SAP Partner Event.  As ever it was great to see you and Adam with your equal enthusiasm for Cloud ERP.  We always benefit from your insight 😊.  It was particularly good to not only get all the partners in one room working together, but also to have such significant SAP presence.  We definitely came away motivated with even bigger ambitions for 2023 and beyond. – gregdurrans
