I hinted there are changes coming regarding listed substances and our regulatory content service. This change serves one main purpose, to make sure your compositions are made up of the most current and accurate substances. This is essential because it forms the foundation for all the automated compliance checks which take place in the system. This is also not just for Product Compliance, but also for Product and REACH compliance, Health and Safety, and Environment Management.

Now our product compliance solution will consume and load listed substances, listed substance groups and listed substance conditions from the regulatory content service. If you want more information about our regulatory content service, you can read this blog. This change results in better system performance and allows for continuous content delivery rather than being dependent on a release or support package. This simplifies the process for you to receive fast and frequent updates on the 330,000+ embedded listed substances provided by SAP.

If your regulatory content service is not configured, not to worry, you are still covered. All listed substances, groups and conditions can be loaded from the local MIME repository of your system to get you started.

We also have content updates for this release. For Product Marketability there are updates with 8 new compliance requirements for compliance disclosures and 4 new substance list checks: Great Britain Persistent Organic Pollutants (Dec 2022), Japan CSCL General Chemicals (Nov 2022), Great Britain REACH SVHC Status (Jan 2021), and Australia AIIC Status (Mar 2023). For Dangerous Goods management, we have completed the worldwide coverage by introducing the new compliance requirement for China and have delivered new versions of IATA-DGR 2023, ADR 2023, RID 2023, ADN 2023 and IMDG 2022. For Safety Data Sheet, there are 10 new compliance requirements, covering GHS regulations for Chile, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as Exposure Scenarios for the European Union and the Korean number for safety data sheets. Finally, for Occupational Exposure Limits there are 53 updated and 12 new compliance requirement versions.

Starting with this release we also have the first expired compliance requirement versions with the majority, over 400, coming from Product Marketability. If you want more detailed information about the content update, you can check out the What’s New or the Roadmap Explorer for product compliance.
