Symptom

2SL(Q2P) customers

When customers try to release BCP includes configuration of text determination procedure or access sequence in the App ‘Manage Your Solution’, the error ‘Transport text type &&& for text object &&&’ is displayed and prevents releasing the configuration.

3SL(D2P) customers

When customers try to release a transport request includes configuration of text determination procedure or access sequence in the App 'Export Customizing Transports', the dependency error happens as below screenshot.

After the text type assigned into the collection, then the transport request includes text determination procedure or access sequence can be released.  But when import the transport request in the T system, the dependency error likes below screenshot happens.

Root Cause

In CE2208, the text type configuration was provided. Customers can create customized text types and use them in the procedure and access sequence of text determination.

Text type is an extension item which requires manual transport (ATO) to the target system. To ensure the data consistency and prevent foreign key errors cross systems, the system checks if text type is already transported into the next target system.  If not, system displays error to prevent releasing the transport request.

Solution

After saving text type configuration, system administrators must perform the following steps:

  1. In the system in which it was created, adds the corresponding extension item to the export list and export the software using the app ‘Export Software Collection’.

  2. In the Production(2SL) or Test(3SL) system, import the software collection using the app ‘Import Collection’.

The transport of text types should be done before releasing the configuration transports.
