Multi country Site CDC

We have 3 different brands with different storefront/UI designs and those are 3 different sites. Hence in accordance with that we created 1 parent and 3 child sites.

Further to it, each brand site is live in multiple countries (appx 32) with different domains like eu.brand1.com, nl.brand1.com , brand2.nl, brand2.eu, brand2.in....

Is it ok to create 32 child sites, I understand there will be manitainance issue but that gives more flexibility is terms of maintainig the domain, redirect URLs and any custom feature for specifc country. Like need to maintain country specific subscription optin information/ country specific consent information.

Will CDC have an performance issue if there are 32 sites against 1 parent?

Hi Sachin

As I got you properly, you created 1 parent and 3 child sites(brand1.com, brand2.com, brand3.com) but thinking about moving to design 1 parent and appx 32 sites, like fr.brand1.com, nl.brand1.com, fr.brand2.com, etc.. in order to have more flexibility, correct?

Hey,

you should be fine using 32 child sites. I've seen projects with hundreds of child sites without CDC performing differently than with a single site.

All user data are stored in a single data source anyway per group. And you only add (cacheable) configs clients and service endpoints need to load with each child site. Which is not that much of a technical overhead.

However, check with your SAP contact what's the limit regarding sites per site group for the given CDC tenants license. To avoid issues down the line.

Cheers,
Sebastian
