file opening error-smartform pdf

dear friends ,

i created a smartform and converted the smart form into pdf file and downloaded the same but when im trying to open the file a pop-up is coming with the msg like the file is corrupted or damaged. can any one help me on this issue. for ur convineince im putting the code also..

Hi durgaprasad,

1. Thats bcos .PDF file is a binary file,

and not a text file.

2. Hence, pass the parameter in GUI_DOWNLOAD

as

FILETYPE = 'BIN'

(and not FILETYPE = 'ASC')

DEAR AMIT,

I even tried that but the result is the error message says the file is not supported.it also says is not properly decoded.

since it is pdf file. you have to use BIN

You can go through this code sample.. This is to combine multiple smartform output to one PDF... You can use it to achieve your result...

1. I just tried at my end,

and now it works fine.

2. I have used another FM

for converting to PDF.

CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF

3. use like this

(u may change the variable name as per ur requirement)

data : myline like table of tline with header line.

data : docs like table of DOCS with header line.

thanx a lot i solved the problem. actually i didnot mentio the field value

BIN_FILESIZE = V_LINES_BIN

in the gui_download fm.

this was the problem .. but thanx newaz.

2. But i tried the same, without specifying

the binary file size,

and it worked perfectly fine !
