Hi Gurus

We need to install EPM addin for BPC 10.0 on all the client machines.

Please advise if there a way by which it can be done for all the users simultaneously. I mean if there is some script or something which we can run.

Best Regards

Saurabh

Morning All,

I have been asked to install EPM patch 15 to our clients via SCCM. I am able to run the silent installer without issue as an admin. When I run it as the system account the installer blows up.

Basic silent install that works from a command prompt that is elevated. "EPM Add-in.exe" /S /v/qn

I gained access to the system account using PSEXEC.exe -i -s -d CMD

(psexec can be download as part of pstools)

Then I ran "EPM Add-in.exe" /S /v/qn and got no results.

Running EPM Add-in.exe from the system account gives the error "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a vaild Windows Installer package"

event viewer indicates.

Event ID 11708

Product: EPM add-in for Microsoft Office -- Installation Operation Failed.

SCCM uses the system account to depoly applications. In my experience If the app can not be installed via the system account it will not successfully install it via SCCM.

Other things I have considered in my efforts to deploy EPM w sp 15 is running the installer as an elevated account up to the initial GUI is displayed. Then grabbing the directories out of my temp folder.

With the depth of data in the temp dir I have not pursued building multiple smaller installers. I have considered building a dif file of the install and repackageing but I would prefer not to go down that road.

Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Saurabh,

please see the epm add-in installation guide to see the prerequisites for epm add-in and in particular paragraph 3.3 Installing EPM add-in for Microsoft Office in Silent Mode

Hi Saurabh,

Have you reviewed section 3.3 as Roberto had mentioned of the EPM Add-In Installation Guide?

The command from the install guide is as follows:

"EPM  Add-in.exe"  /S/v"INSTALLDIR=\"[install  path]\"  SETUPPHASE=Install  CT_PROFILE=[application  name]

CT_LANGUAGES=\"[language]\"  /qn"

You'll need to refer to SCCM resources to determine how to deploy this.

i.e.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632986.aspx

or

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632532.aspx

HTH,

John
