Error message "IM004"

Hi,

I´ve Crystal Report ver 11 installed on my laptop running Windows 7. I´ve also Microsoft "32-bit Data Source Administrator" installed.

Problem:

I like to connect to Oracle database ver 11. I succed by setting it up as a "User-DSN" to the DB ("Connection Successful"), but when I try to connect from Crystal Report "Create new datasorce" -- ODBC (RDO) I can choose my "User-DSN" name,

But I then get a Error Message ” IM004, Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_HENV failed”. I try to read support pages etc, but sofar not lucky.

Anyone out there, who can help me?

/Hans

Hi Hans,

If you are on a 64 bit OS make sure you are running the ODBC Administrator located in \windows\syswow64 folder, that is the 32 bit ODBC Admin. And the Oracle Client is 32 bit, Crystal Reports is a 32 bit application.

And you should use a system DSN so all users have access and the DSN has access to all resources.

Also, that error is being reported by the Oracle Client, CR is simply passing the message through to you.

And if using Microsoft's Oracle driver, not supported. MS only supports up to Oracle 7. You need to use Oracle's client.
