How to assign Resources

Please guide me how to assign resources in SAP PS.

Hi Neha,

Resource can be assigned in SAP PS through Workforce planning. Workforce planning assigns persons to activities . Person can be assigned

1. Who are assigned to the work center of the activity

2. Belong to the project team

3. Persons available in HR.

I think here, you are suppose to post the queries or questions if you do not find relevant information on Service Marketplace, SAP Help and previous threads on SDN.

Please first take efforts to find out the same over there, if you do not get the answer then you post the question.

Posting the question for same thing again and again does not add value to forum. It just adds more data.

I hope all forum users agree on my opinion.

I completely agree with what Mahendra has to say.

I have repeatedly said in the past and requested all the senior forum members not to respond to such basic queries. Instead ask people to go through SAP help or search the forum to get answers for such queries.

Lets add some value to the forum.

Hi,

Go thought the CMP2 tcode for resource planing wherein you need to network/wbs/project as reference in project selection then check availability of person and assign.

you can take report for the same from CMP9 tcode.

Project System distinguishes between the following resources:

Internally-processed activities define the work to be carried out by machines or

persons. You can evaluate the capacities of the various work centers involved,

reschedule these capacities as necessary, and distribute work among employees.

You can use externally-processed activities to define which services are required

by other companies. External processing is carried out by the Purchasing

department.

Service activities are also used to procure services externally. Unlike

externally-processed activities, this activity type enables you to define service

specifications and value limits for unplanned services rendered by the service

provider. Service processing (including entry and acceptance of services

performed) is also carried out by the Purchasing department.
