How to find Whether the sap system is up or not? in UNIX

    I presume the user does not have access other than at Unix OS level... if that was the case, simply you can use DPMON (ABAP) and JCMON (JAVA) to verify the startus of the workprosseses.

    That will tell you for sure if the instances are up or down, and ever if they are busy or not 😉

    Depends on type of system.

    Anyways simplest check is to try to login into the system . If ABAP use SAPGUI and if JAVA use the relevant url.

    try to execute startsap check command as <sid>adm user

    Hello Sugan,

    For Java system try to launch the URL http://<hostname>:5<instance no>00

    If you get the start page your Java system is UP. For ABAP what Ruchit said, you can try from SAPGUI.
