I'm struggling with the correct number range definitions in ByD. There's no explanation of the correct syntax of number ranges like From: A to: ZZZZZZZZZ or From: 00000001 to: 99999999. As we use product numbers or invoice numbers like 3.24-1234 we had no success in defining such templates in ByD. Is there a description of the syntax and how to specify valid templates?

You should be able to define number ranges in some fine tuning activities in the business configuration.
You might have to add these activities from the optional ones.
What objects are you looking for in particular? Invoices and products?
And what exactly is the problem defining the new number ranges?

We have product numbers like "0123456-78-90-1X". There's no help or indication how to define the mask in the number range definition. Nor it's obvious what's the difference between "000000001" and "ZZZZZZZZZZ". And how can I define e.g. invoice and proposal numbers which start at 100001 and not at 1. It's strange to explain toa customer that the proposal number start at 1 when he has already received various proposals with numbers like 3.1.24-01-2011.
