Validation of Account Assignment Combinations

Hello,

I'd like to use the functionality "Validation of Account Assignment Combinations" from EHP4, Business Function FIN_GL_CI_2 (t-code FAGL_VALIDATE).

In the Release Notes as well as in the SAP help I only find examples for Cost-Centers or Profit-Centers.

But I'd like to use this functionality for validation of WBS elements (SAP PS) and I cannot find any information if this will work (under which conditions) or not.

As once activated Business Functions may not be de-activated later-on I cannot make a test in my system.

But to know if it will work has strong influence on the decision.

Hi Anja,

Please check the pdf file (SAP official documentation) that I have attached to this thread.

When you dont find information in help or notes, you should check the documentation available in the following link:

http://service.sap.com/releasenotes

Under SAP Solutions -> SAP ERP -> SAP ERP 6.0 -> Enhancement Package 4

Click on the Financials document (usually number 12) in the list.

Do a search in the document by word FIN_GL_CI_2 and you will see all the documentation about it, starting in page 93.

Unfortunately it is related to FI and CO, and WBS element is not a field from any of these areas, but PS.

thank you for your reply - but I already know all those informations (release notes, ...).

The problem is that SAP always only shows a single example with the combination of cost center and G/L-account. But cost centers are only for expenses, but about revenues that are posted e.g. on WBS-Elements?

So I am missing an official statement about other possible objects (than the cost center) that can be checked. Are they depending on my scenarios in New G/L and my user-defined fields in FAGLFLEXT?

As business functions cannot be deactivated I am not able to make a try...

Hi Anja,

If you read the pdf document that I have attached to the thread you know that it is not possible to use for WBS elements and that document is an official one from SAP. I sent the release notes link just so you know from where this pdf was taken.

If you have read there you know that you can use for CO objects. For revenues you have Profit Centers which are CO objects.

In addition, I believe you should review your concept about "Cost Centers can only be used for expenses" this is not completely true. You can assign profit centers to cost centers and you can mark the cost center to receive revenues also.

Please review CO documentation about it, I believe you can give a try but not for WBS Element which is not a CO object.

Thanks for your reply. But I am interested in the validation of account assignment combinations via business fonction FIN_GL_GI_2 and non of the threads treats this subject...
