Dynamic Parameter Drop Down Blank

Former Member

Hi,

I have created many reports, but recently when I refresh the drop down menu goes blank in parameter. Same report I can access in other systems and it works. I searched in google but was not able to find any answers.

It would be great help if someone would resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Arjuna K.M.

What kind of data sources do you access with your report?

Thanks for the replies.

I have linked Crystal Report to Dynamics GP database. We use only one User ID from all systems to access crystal reports. I have my self created the report, but now from my system i am unable to work further. The same report I can access with the same userid from other system.

If I install Crystal Reprot XI then I can get the parameter drop down, but then if someone saves the report using Crystal Report 2008 then I cannot access the report as 2008 is greater version than XI.

What is GP database? Doesn't matter though....

Debug your connection info, seems like you are not using the same driver. As mentioned, enable logging on the server and see if the connection is getting to the server from the work station. If it isn't then debug the work station to see what driver it's using and if it's configured exactly the same way as one that does work.

What patch level is CR 2008 on?

Thank you

I am using CR 2008 with service pack 3 fix 3.3. The other systems are still with service pack 2. I had this issue so i updated the service packs.

Once I had linked 2 databases one SQL database and one Excel data into one report in Crystal. Does that cause any issues like this.

Turn tracing on your database to see what happens when the LOV runs. Could be a permission denied error. Possibly the user running those reports is not authorized to access the database or tables.

Thank you
