Absence Quota through RPTQTA00 Issues

Former Member

Hi Team,

This is for an Implementation project in Middle-east .Country grouping 99.

We are not using time evaluation and while trying create Absence Quotas using RPTQTA00, getting the following issues:

1. Ours is a Monthly Accrual of Quotas, 2 Days by Month end. That quota would be valid for the calendar year.

In Talbe V_T559L (Validity Deduction Interval), I maintained calendar Year as Validity interval, but the generated quota

validity is only for that month. How can get the validity for the whole calendar year.

2. In table V_556A_B, I maintained negative deduction of 30 days, but I am not able to create absence for more than 2 days.

What could be the reason?

3. Company requirement is the negative deduction of 30 days, should reduce by 2 days every month (Because of monthly

quota addition of 2 days) e.g. In Jan the negative deduction would be 30 days, In Feb it would be 28 Days and 8 by Dec.

How can we achieve this?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Please check your base entitlement period, this should also be Calendar year. Please also check the generation rules in T559L for time of transfer details.

Please check if you have assigned any maximum days of deduction. Make this blank if you have. Please also ensure that negative deduction allowed box is checked for the absence quota in question.

+3. Company requirement is the negative deduction of 30 days, should reduce by 2 days every month (Because of monthly

quota addition of 2 days) e.g. In Jan the negative deduction would be 30 days, In Feb it would be 28 Days and 8 by Dec.

Please clarify the requirement. Generally, in the Middle East, the amount of negative deduction allowable does not change. It should always allow up to -30 days, but with each month, you are entitled to 2 more days quota.

So, if for example, I take a vacation on 01.01.2010 for 30 days, my quota balance on 31.01.2010 is -30. I get 2 more days in my quota on 01.02.2010, which when added to my balance of -30 makes it -28.

If that is your requirement, then standard quota configuration will automatically take care of such adjustments.

Thanks for your reply,

1. Made the changes in the Base entitlements area to Calendar year as you suggested. Other configs are already in place.

Still negative deduction is not happening!!

2. Current Configs as same as you suggested. Still not working.....

3. The given example is correct, that is the client requirement. As the -ive deduction is not happening I am not able to test the same.

Hello,

For the negative deduction to happen , you need to have the over entitlemenr Rule attached in the counting rule of the absence.

For the absence , see which counting rule is attached and also for the same where you have attached the deduction rule just

below that attach the same deduction rule for over entitlement. This will lead to negative deduction.

Please check if all the following configuration elements are adhered to:

1. In V_T554S, there is no value or a value of 999 days for the Maximum Duration of your absence type

2. In V_T556A, the amount of negative deduction up to (-30) is included for the absence quota in question

3. In T556C, for the counting rule attached to your absence type, the absence quota in question is entered for both fields, "within entitlement and "over entitlement"

4. In V_556A_B, the negative deduction value (-30) is assigned to the quota in question.

As for problem number 3, what happens after 15 months? Does the customer mean to say that if I have served their organisation for 15 months, I cannot get any negative quota at all (since if the amount of negative quota entitlement decreases by 2 days every month, after 15 months, I should not be able to avail of any negative quota)? How about after 16 months? Would that mean that I can never use 2 days of my quota?

Thanks a lot,

1. - ive deduction started working. I missed to maintain the quota number in the "over entitlement" field. Thanks for your precise guidence.

2. Still facing problem in validity period of the monthly created quota. Validity period should be calender year. I am getting only 1 month validity.

3. Regarding the 3rd issue, here quotas are only for 1 calendar year. There is no carry forward....

Thanks,
