Asset Writeoff

Hi All,

The Assets has to be write off in 31st march2010 with the assets value as on 31st Aug, 2010.

Out of which only few assets are left and showing the error (Posting Transaction not possible Value date not allowed).

The error is due to the partial retirement of assets during Fiscal Year 2010, So the Assets is not allowing for write off in fiscal year 2009.

Please help me to write off the assets.

Hi,

For your AA entry, your asset value date must not be greater than posting date.

Dear Srinu,

The asset Value date and posting date is on the same date ie.. 31032010. where the asset is partially sold in fiscal year 2010 and the remaining asset is to be writeoff on the posting fiscal year 2009, 31032009. Please help me in writing off those assets.

Hi,

Then it is not possible to retire that asset on 31-03-2010, since you have done partial transaction in current FY.

Any transaction for this asset can only be done after a date, which is used for your partial selling transaction.

This is the standard behavior.
