Work book Broadcasting Issue

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have got A pre Calculation server installed in one of my XP Machines. The pre calculation server is functioning properly.

One problem I am facing here is when on the same pre calculation server when I schedule or Direct Broadcasting is done

in Production server the output comes as junk. As we all must have seen in excel when the work book is created in the

higher version of excel and opened in lower version it opens as junk. it is opening is the same fashion

but

in Development server the output is proper.

The best part is that in both the servers the same Pre calculation server is used.

Pl put some light on this

Thanks

Shivani

I've contacted my colleague, one of the developers of Precalculation Server.

It's possible, yes. But this is not recommended. I'm not sure if SAP provide support in this case.

Well, I would like to suggest you this note:

You cannot use the same precalculation on different systems.

Install a new Precalc. Server on a station.

Try to unregister on DEV system and register only on PROD.

Let me know if persist.

One precalc server can be addressed from several BW systems. See message

Hello,

Probably you are using Excel 2007 on your Precalculation Server.

May I suggest you to use Excel 2003.

Or, as another tip, try to implement the instructions of note 1339061 on the Excel of the Precalc. Server.

Let me know if the issue persist.

Thanks

Edard

Hello Shivani,

- Please check that the workbook being broadcast opens & refreshes ok on the precalculation server.

- Ensure that the precalculation server is patched to the same or higher level then Analyzer.

- In any case, please test the latest FEPs for Analyzer & Precalculation.

> BW 7.x precalculation service SP1300 - GUI 7.10 (note 1413028). All download info & installation instructions can be found

in the same note. The installation guide is also attached to the same note. **Note, in the precalculation service please

maintain the user with windows system administration rights instead of the local system account user as mentioned in the

installation guide on page 13.
