Hide fields in Webui

I have an issue with my contacts lay out. When we create contacts, under create contact details we have work address area and main address area. Under both we have fields street, city, zip and country. Now I'm trying to hide the main address area. I got the component and went to GUI ( we are in 2007) and deleted labels and the input fields in this area. There is nothing left under this component / context id config.

When I accessed create contacts, I still see the all the fields and if I hit F2, i see different context id and if I hit configuration in webui all fields are going away.

The way it configured was add caption to each field and an input field. So , I have several fields within the same contextid. I need to be able to hide the whole context id.

Please hlep me here.

Hi,

If you have removed the fields from configuration but the fields are still visible in web ui then there are 2 things to check,

1. Go to SE38 and execute report BSP_DLC_DELETE_PERSONALIZATION

2. Check whether the configuration in which you have removed the fields and the configuration displayed in the web ui are the same. Check the component, view and context node in web ui and also compare component usage, object type, subobject type in web ui and in view configuration.

When I execute this report, I get a message that do you still want to delete personalization data ... entrie. But, I can't see what exactly is it trying to delete. When I say yes, it will give me a message that it hsa been successfully delted. I don't have the details.

I got this fixed. When I deleted first component, it's also pulling another one and now I had to delete these two..
