Fleet Equipment Installation

Hi Experts,

If i will install the fleet equipments like Car,Truck on the functional location. is it impact any where in PM system ?

My planning is whatever the vehicles are created in system i should install at Transport Functional location.

Please guide me whether it is correct or not ?

Hi

Normally it is not allowed in Standard system. But you can make changes to customization setting for fleet object to make it installed on functional location. My Suggetion is keep this installation is temparary. If you could able to tell me your functionality requirement i can guide you properly.

If you want to use installation in Transport network (Functional location structure for transportation management), Then better to have fleet equipment installed at particular route for the period till it complete transportation order & after completion of it dismental it from it. Just like assigning the fleet to particulat route for transportation purpose.

This installing & dismentalling can be managed mannually as well as automatically by doing some enhancement.

Let me know detailed requirement.

Mapping Fleet Equipment under a Functional location, is no problem as per requirement.

As far as i know,this set-up will have all those features as normal equipments.

To enable fleet equipment install under a functional location, the IMG setting to be done is:

Go to 'Define Installation at Functional Location' under 'Equipment Usage Period' node and check the box under 'Inst. at FunctLoc' Column.

Hi Amit,

It is generally not recommended to install Fleet Objects, as they keep on moving from place to place.

But if you require to group them and consider some cost reports etc and if important for you, you can Install at FL

But ensure that the Equipment category should allow installation at Functional Location.
