Creating Track for ESS and MSS

Former Member

Hi,

We have 3 system landscape for our EP 7.0. And NWDI is also configured.

ESS and MSS components were already deployed into Development portal through JSPM and linked it with ERP 6.0 system and related configurations were also completed on both system.

Portal consultants now want a Track for ESS and MSS to carry out customizations.

My queries are:

1, After check-in do we need to import these components and its dependencies into Portal development server?

2, If we are importing these components again will it create any conflicts?

3, What about existing Configurations done basis, hr and portal consultants?

Regards,

Siv

Hi,

Thank you for the responses.

So re-import of ESS and MSS is a must?

Does dependencies also have to be imported? or import of only ESS and MSS components will be sufficient? any sequence?

Here by dependencies, i mean components like PCUI-GP, SAP-JEE, JTECHS, Buildt.

Also ESS and MSS are of Release 600 and SP 15, any error which may come while importing these again through track.

Regards,

Siv

Siva-

If the software components of ESS and MSS are modified before (If any webdynpro code change is performed) then when you create a track and after you import software components that will over write the changes.

Other PCD configuration or HR ECC config would not be effected.

Thanks,

Raj

1, After check-in do we need to import these components and its dependencies into Portal development server?

- NWDI or CTS+ will handle it.

2, If we are importing these components again will it create any conflicts?

- It is like a redeployement of sca files. So conflict should be detected in the developpement phase. (It is a replace procedure)

3, What about existing Configurations done basis, hr and portal consultants?

- It is just like an Upgrade-Process with remotegui or JSPM. and it will not affect the backend configurations and portal related configurations.
