Hi experts,
I am broadcasting a query, via mail as an excelfile. The broadcasting works and the receiver of the report opens what looks like an excel file, in Excel. It even has a name that ends with .xls.
However it is a "disguised" file in the format .mht. If I choose "Save as" in Excel when I have opened the file from the mail, it proposes to save it as an .mht-file. If I manually choose to save it as a .xls-file, I can then open it as a u201Crealu201D Excel-file again.
So there is a way to work around the problem, but it is not end user friendly, the end user prefers to receive a u201Crealu201D Excel file right from the start.
Any way to solve this?

Niclas
Thanks for clear answer, even if my point of view is that the norm SAP delivers in this case is a problem in itself.
We'll start using workbooks instead then.

Hi Niclas,
This is actually not a problem. This is what SAP calls a Norm. By default this is what SAP gives you. You can't broadcast query result in actual Excel sheet format. However, if you want the user to be able to view Excel sheets, then you would have to save the query results as workbooks and broadcast the workbook using a precalculation server.
Let me know.

Sree.

we don't have the "disguised" format... it's an .xls and saves as .xls
not sure how you get those .mht files...
anyways, we're broadcasting workbooks only (not queries)
