Hi, for some materials, we need to keep some extra material to process in operations. say, a sheet of 2.2x4.2 metrs square is required to make one product. after making that product, it actually consume 2x4 m2 only. we need to keep that much extra to porform the opration. how to show this extra mat of 0.2x0.2 m2 (scrap is planned) for this material? is there any way can we show the reason for extra consuption of material in pp? pls advise.
Hi,
1. If you want system to plant component quantity including scrap qty then mention scrap percentage in line item of BOM component.
2. If you want to issue extra components then issue with MB1A with movement 261 mention order number.
you can see that consumtion with order table AUFM.

Hello,
Assembly Scrap-
In MRP 1 screen, you have Assembly Scrap. It is Percentage scrap that occurs during production of the material if the material is an assembly.
If the material is an assembly, specify the percentage scrap as required. E.g. If the quantity to be produced is 200 pieces and you specify an assembly scrap of 10%, you are reckoning with a scrap quantity of 20 pieces. As a result, 220 pieces are produced.
Component Scrap -
In MRP 4 screen, you have Component Scrap. It is Percentage of scrap that occurs during production of the material if the material is a component.
Component scrap is used in material requirements planning (MRP) to determine the quantities of components required. When exploding the bill of material (BOM), the system increases the required quantities of the components by the calculated scrap quantity. Example Required Quantity 200 pieces, Component Scrap 10 %, Scrap Quantity is 20 pieces. Therefore, 220 pieces are required.
Hope it answers your question.
