Disable the Requested delivery date in sales order

Dear Experts

I wish to disable the requested delivery date in the sales order screen VA01 so that the user cannot change this date while punching the sales order.How can this be done

hello,

u talking 2 things here.

1) u want to disable this field (grey out) - to do this u need to create a transaction variant of sales order in SHD0 and assign the screen variant wherein u will select the display mode for the 'requested delivery date' field. By doing so the field will turn grey and nothing can be entered here.

2) u have mentioned that the user should not be able to change this field - once this field is greyed out, the user will not able to enter anything here in va01.

i hope this is what u were looking for. for any further req, mention it.

well i am already aware about t-variant but somehow dont wish to incorporate that.can this be done in the standard SAP t-code VA01
