difference between IT 0001 and 0016

Please let me know the difference in assigning contract in IT 0001 and IT 0016?

HI,

IT 0001 - Organizational Assignment - Used to define in which org unit the employee is working, what is his status, time administrator, the position he is assigned to and all.

Where as IT 0016 - Contract Elements - This infotype is used to define, whether the employee is a permanent employee (unlimited contract), or a contract employee (limited contract). This infotype is also used to maintain the notice that the employee has to serve to the company, a company has to serve the employee & probation period etc.
