SAP Enterprise Portal 7.4 DLN folder on 3 click gives login page

Hi,

I am using 7.4 Enterprise Portal. In the DLN we have folder structure and sub links under the folder.

• When we click on the folder in DLN the 1st time, it opens the sub structure, the links and the content which is fine.
• When we click on the same folder in DLN 2nd time, it closes, which is fine.
• When we click on the same folder in the DLN 3rd time, it shows login page.

It is an anonymous portal and I see that the URL changes everytime and 3rd time the URL is missing /anonymous.

What could be the reason here? I don't see the same issue in 7.0 (same content framework etc).

I was following up on another thread for the solution and so couldn't follow this up but as my issue is still unresolved, below is the progress detail in line with your response:

• I was checking the issue here with Fabio and it seems that the DTN might be a custom content having different functionalities using hover menu and just one level of navigation in the TLN which could be performing a navigation to an invalid shortURL or even using any cache as the case is that you are calling the same navigation.

Yes, the DTN is custom.

• So in order to isolate first I would suggest you testing the behavior using SAP desktop (SAP framework / SAP theme).

With standard Desktop, no we don't see this issue.

• Another good test would be to try recreating the same scenario for an SAP content (standard folder on DTN).

With SAP content (standard) and our DTN/Theme the issue still appears.

To elaborate the issue, when we click on the folder first time the URL is:

We notice that in third click the URL is missing anonymous from the URL and obviously goes to the login page. Why only on third click? I would like to highlight that the same DTN was working as desired in 7.0 with absolutely zero changes. Is there a difference in 7.0 and 7.4 which could result in this issue?

Hi Gaurav,

Have you compared the code of the new NetWeaver 740 DTN and your own code? NW740 and 700 are very different, so I recommend comparing the code and adjusting as required.

Particularly as there is no issue with using SAP Standard DTN

As this is just a migration, we were not expecting any changes with respect to the DTN specifically from 7.0 to 7.4 but as you suggested I did a check of the code but could not find why It would go to login on 3 clicks.

Also, I did a comparison of 7.0 DTN and that of 7.4 and clearly there are lot of differences but nothing that could result in such an issue.

Why only on three clicks and why "/anonymous" cuts off from the URL on 3 clicks is what stumps me off.

Hi Gaurav,

I'm not familiar with the code to build DTN links. As you confirmed the issue does not occur with anonymous access using SAP Standard DTN code, this is why I would suggest recreating your custom DTN based on the latest available code

Thanks for your response.

Yes it is a custom Detailed Navigation with one level of navigation.

I tried with SAP desktop and the issue does not exist there. However, I copied the Ajax framework as a trial but the issue appears the moment our custom Detailed Navigation is assigned to it.

I could have blamed the custom DTN myself but in 7.0, the issue does not exist with the same code and set up. Also, in 7.4 this issue is not present with F5 but appears on direct server. I can't understand why 3 clicks, if it appears in 1 click that would be consistent.

Regarding your suggestions for "recreating the same scenario for an SAP content (standard folder on DTN).", I shall do this as well and revert.

Yes, I meant Detailed Navigation. Attached is:

Image 1: Portal has DLN and tree structure using custom framework. I have migrated from 7.0 to 7.4. In the DLN tree, we have folder and pages under it. On clicking the folder 3 times, we see the login page (Image 2). The custom framework behavior is not seen in 7.0.

I have checked the permissions everywhere and it is "anonymous" as the portal is anonymous. I notice that on third click the URL changes and misses the /anonymous which further results in login page.

Any suggestions please?

Do you mean DTN(Detail navigation) or Navigation Panel?
