Crystal Report Application Server 9 on Virtual Machine

Former Member

Hello,

This one is giving me a huge headache. I am trying to install Crystal Reposrt Application Server 9 (I know, really old version) onto a virtual machine which is using VMware ESX 3.5. Every time I install the application, the Crystal Reporting Application Server service will not start. Is there a known issue with this version of Crystal RAS and installing it on a virtual machine?

The only error information I am given is on a popup window during the installation. It reads:

Error 1920: Service 'Crystal Report Application Server' (CrystalReportApplicationServer) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

The only errors in the event viewer on the server are these:

Event Type: Error
