Dear Guru's,

Im trying to install Solman 4.0 with Oracle 10g on Win2k3 OS and the hardware sizing is given below

Virtual Memory 2048 -4096 MB

When the installation is at the Import ABAP phase it gets cancelled due to the following error's which I

have observed from log files as given below.

Up to my level of understanding all the imports of packages failed due to "unavailablity to allocate the

required shared memory". But, can anyone please suggest me how to allocate the sufficient SM for avoiding this problem and also is this related to increasing the RAM size.

I would appreciate if somebody suggest me the optimal H/W requirements for smooth installation also

whether I need to restart the installation freshly if I add more RAM size.

Awating your response at the earliest.

Best Regards,

S. Viswanathan

Hi subramanian,

You can see the hardware requirements in the installation guide.

http://service.sap.com/instguides

If you have time, I recommend to select "New Installation" at the first screen.

Best regards,

TK

Dear SAP Guru's,

Thanks for your suggestion's I have successfully installled soluion manager 4.0 with new installation

and identifed that the shared memory problem is due to RAM size.

I have added another 1 GB of RAM (total became 2 GB) and carried on with new installation which

worked successfully.

Best Regards,

S.Viswanathan
