Connectors between SAP and Lotus notes

Hello,

I have a requirement in which I need to send the workitems to lotus notes from SAP. After going through the forums I came to know that the following are available connectors to meet my requirement.

  • LEI SAP connector from IBM

  • it.smart-connect from itelligence

  • ZeNotes from konplan

  • Desktop Workplace from 3i consulting

I was not able to come to a conclusion as to which is the best among them with the information that I was able to go through. Could someone please suggest as to which one of them is the better to use. My requirement is to send the workitems to lotus notes and give privilege to the end users to act on them from Lotus notes without having to log in to SAP system. The client's landscape is ECC 6.0 and the Lotus notes version is 6.

Hope I am clear about my requirement.

Regards,

Samson

LEI could be used provided Client use LN forever otherwise use Desktop Workplace which works for OUTLOOK Also. This is a suggestion.

Thanks

Hello Samson,

since you are on Lotus 6 you may also consider using SAP XI/PI for this form of integration. You may leverage the SOAP/web services adapter to access Lotus Domino or use a partner adapter.

Depending on the type of tasks you use, you could take a look at off-line approval.

I think you can also use extended notifications with executable attachments or links provided you have Single Sign On configured.

I would also take a look at why this is a requirement, because normally this kind third party software is quite expensive just to make sure some users don't have to logon to SAP.
