SAP HCM undefined free form attributes

I have a requirement for maintaining a price limit value against position. This limit value will be checked in workflow approval for approving invoice. One way of doing is to create a custom OM infotype and maintain this limit against the position .

It seems SAP has standard undefined free form attributes which can be used, for defining custom requirements. Attributes are as below-

0HCM_TMC_T02.0PA_TMC_13

0PA_TMC_1320HRPOSITION_3_ATTR

I would like to know if any insight on this will really help.

When you say "price limit", do you mean pay grades/scales/levels? You could just use those from compensation, no?

Thanks for your reply.

Price limit is a custom defined limit for reporting managers to approve. This is not relate to pay grades or any compensation. I guess we can create custom om infotype to maintain this but is there something called as undefined free form attributes in sap which can use. There is something on general attribute maintainance in OM infotype but can we use that.
