When i am trying to post a Goods receipt in MB31, it dosent allow me to post teh quantity less or more than the standard quanity, i dont know why and where to check.
If the posting is made for less or more than the standard, it gives an error: as Gl account XXXXXXXX is not present in the company code. but if the posting is made for the standard quantity, the posting is sucessful.
it would be great if someone can help me on this.
You have a difference in your production order. This difference is trying to post to an account number that is not defined/valid in your company code.
You define this account in OBYC, but depends on your particular settings which is the operation/transaction. Its probably a PR* (try PRP).
To check this, you may list table T030 (Using SE16/SE16N) where you have defined that XXXXX account.
You will probably have to define the correct account to post the difference, or maintain the account in your company code (transaction FS00).
Hope this helps!

There is a error comming up saying "GL account 7220310 not present in the company code XXXX, i dont know what to do.
When i checked the gl account in COA level and company code level, i dont see that account.i am wondering from where is the system generating that account number from and why is that i am unable to post the GR, more than the standard quantity.
Please help
Saleema, as wrote you before, your settings in account determination (OBYC) are determining that account for a difference.
Go to transaction SE16, table T030, and in the field account, inform the one that you are getting in the error message.
This way you will find out in which transaction/account modification you have this account set.
Go to OBYC and change that account for the correct one.
is it the case that when we try to post a GR against a production order for more than or less than a standard quantity, the variance gets posted to a diffrent account or how does that work.
Someone please let me know the journal entry for this kind of postings.
i am wondering that when any amount of quanity is posted, it should calculate with the standard cost and post the journal entry to the two accounts assigned but in this case i see that it is looking for a third account to get posted.
can some one explain me this is detail that how does this work.
Hi,
Please try, by selecting unlimited over delivery for material in material master in purchasing view.
And add over and under delivery tolerance.
