How to load a BW hierarchy from a HANA table

We have data in a HANA table that we would like to use to build a hierarchy within BW.

It seems hierarchy datasources are not supported from HANA using DB connect as the option is not available to select when creating the datasource.

We have tried numerous other ways but the main challenge seems to be with the hierarchy header; we are unable to get this to just load once, as it would via flat file, and just get the error "More than one text specified for hierarchy header for language EN"

Any thoughts on how this can be achieved simply?

We have found and used a work around using an export datasource and transfer rules following the blog post below, however still keen to find a more modern / standard approach to this as it feels very outdated using transfer rules in a 7.4 BW on HANA system.
