Hi Sanjana
Status profile is an entity which contains all the statuses that a document can have.
Now this Status profile is linked to a Transaction Type or Item Category (while we define Transaction Types / Item Categories in SPRO).
Whenever, a User Status is set for a trasaction, it is stored in DB with its Status Profile.
So when you use the FM CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN, you must pass the Status Profile for the system to understand it.
i guess u have understanding that there are two kind of statuse
User status
System status
the status profile that u assign to the transaction actually involves the user statuses
and u can control those by having the authorisation check
besides the system status is something which u cant control but actually system generated
still if u want to create new status u can have the event generator which will link u to a new status u want to create,
if u go through these links u will get what i am actually trying to say

guess it will help u
do get back in case of any doubt

hi sanjana
we use user status when particular status has its own significance ,as the word denote itself that user status ,status toi be configured by user.
Scenario for user Status
for instance u have 4 status
open
in process
cancelled
sanctioned
and each status approval is dependent on 4 different people, what will u do
i will apply the authorisation check so that each person is able to do what is required to be done by him actually
authorisation check will enable that wrong status is not set by wrong person,as if person A has to set status as open then he can open only not any other status he can set, likely for person B or else,u get what i mean i guess
so thats the authorisation significance
for using this utility u need to create a particular role which will perform the task which u want them to do,when such role is created then role is attached to particular person.
in the same way u can apply the check which enable u to do assign task only that is if u can only view any object then u can only view u just cant change it because u do not have any authorisation of doing that.
so i hope i have explained the user status and its significance.
now regarding the System status
system status is actually system generated and we do not have any control over it because the control remains with the system.
for instance u have created a lead and u have used certail BP relationship over there in ur partner determination procedure.
over a period of time u want to delete the relationship u have maintained in that Lead transaction,to ur surprise u will find out that u r not able to delete that relationship .this happen because the Lead that u have generated ,the status there has been set by system and just by deleteing that Lead u can not use that relationship again,to delete that BP relationship what u have to do is to go inside the table where system status entries are maintained and then delete those entries.
so u see for urself how a status if set by system will behave in completely different way than user status.
infact user status is a tool which u can use to perform various task in various transactions.
u may know that we can create the status profile in which we can use n number of user staus according to our requirement.
u must be using those user stauses in ur actions and workflows too.
ii guess i have cleared the air.
still having any doubt u r welcome
best regards
