[BPC for Excel] Dimension clicked, then Excel hangs

Former Member

Hi,

After launching BPC for Excel, action pane with CV appears.

However, when I click on any of the dimensions in the CV,

no Dimension Member window is popped up. What's worse,

the Excel hangs and I have to use Task Manager to end Excel.

What can I do to solve this?

Sunny

In my opinion, you should contact the BPC Support team. The issue may extend beyond the forum and if there is a particular issue with the software, support needs to be capturing the events.

I don't think I have applied any office fix. The problem just came up suddenly.

I uninstalled Office 2003 and reinstalled it again. The problem was still there.

Frustrated, I resorted to reinstalling Windows XP on my computer. Now the problem disappeared.

Hi James,

I was clicking the link in the CV, not the drop-down box. It used to work and I could choose any of the members in the dimension. However, the Excel simply hangs once I click those dimension links now.

Hi Sorin,

My BPC for Excel used to work well for several months but it suddenly went wrong last week. I uninstall it and reinstall it again. Yet it still doesn't work. All the checking in the client diagnostic shows OK.

I'm wondering whether I should re-install Office 2003 or even Windows XP.

What version of Excel are you using?

Before to install the BPC client did you verify the prerequisite software? You can do that using the client installation page where you have a button client diagnostic.

You need to click on the dimension NAME (e.g. Category) to get the member selection dialog. The drop-down only shows recently used members.
