No Response for BEx Analyzer Toolbar (Urgent)

Hi All, This is urgent as users are getting affected. We are in upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0. All our users are on Excel 2000. Since new Analyzer cannot be used with Excel 2000, we planned to use the old analyzer (3.x). After GUI 710 is installed, when we use RRMX it opens the new Analyzer with no BEx toolbar. We were told to change the global settings to ‘Launch legacy version from RRMX’. But when we try to open the New Analyzer the BEx toolbar is inactive, there is no response when you click the buttons/icons. Also the tooltips show in german.Due to that we cannot change the global settings to check the ‘Launch legacy version from RRMX’.

Any help as to why this is happening. Why did SAP made this setting when you can't change it?

Hello, there are couple of other posts concerning BEx being inactive with German tooltip text. Most refer to the fact that .net 2.0 may be required. Here is a link to one of the threads /community [original link is broken]

Hi PK,

IF you want to use 3.x, you need to use 3.x analyzer.

In BW, go to transaction RRMX_CUST, and select 3.x version.

Then, when you run RRMX transaction, you should get the 3.x analyzer open.

Thanks Diego, This transaction is available from BI 7.0 but not in 3.5. We have already pushed the new GUI to the users but we go live on Oct 22nd, so till then I cannot use this transaction. Also this transaction mentions that users can overwrite this by changing the settings in their BEx analyzer so the purpose of changing the settings is still required. Because that setting will overwrite the change in this transaction. More help will be appreciated. I will assign you relevant points for your answer. Thanks

HI PK,

If you have BW 3.5, you cannot use new bex analyzer, not even with excel 2003. You still need to use 3.x Bex.

What you can do is uninstal Bex 7.0 and install bex 3.5.
