Hi SAP experts,
Normally we calculate; MTBR = (Total up time) / (number of breakdowns)
For example There are 2 different working type.
1-) A equipments works 8 hours in a day.
2-) B equipments work 24 hours in a day.
Above formula is using to calculate MTBR same way. How do I calculate MTBR through the equipment working hours ?
Hi
Mean Time Between repair (MTBF) = Total Maintenance Time / No of Repairs.
if you want to calculate by using equipment working hours, we have to calculate maintenance time from that, then we have to use the above formula.
Like Equipment A is works 8hrs in a Day
Total Equipment should be running in a week 24*7 = 186
Actual Total Equipment running in a week 8*7 = 56
Total Downtime in a week is (186-56) = 130
MTBF = 130 / No of Repairs. this calculation will lead to HIGH MTBF value means Maintenance is taking more time. This 130 Hours may include Idle time also, like Equipment is not running but maintenance is also not happening.
Better use the Total Maintenance Time instead of running hours to calculate MTBF.
