It's possible, but SAP strongly recommends against it. Please see for instance note 24864.

go to se11
give table name
click display
before the table name we have the type of table
that is whether transparent,pooled ,cluster.
ex: mara- transparent table
bseg - cluster table
a001- pooled table

Change table format??? - No!!
A transparent table has a key and data fields which are stored like this in the database (perhaps optimised by the database engine in some way)
A Cluster table has key fields which include a couple of extra ones such as seqence number, and then has a single long RAW field that holds the data in a compressed format. The database does not know about what fields are in this - the Aplication Server unpacks it and presents it to your application as if it was the fields you asked for. A Cluster table can contain many different data layouts identified by a field in the key that the application server uses to unpach different records in a different way.
Pooled tables are separate in the dictionary, but can be stored in a common table in the database.
So any change to the definition in SE11 will mean SAP will be unable to read the data in the table as it will be looking at it the wrong way. The only way to convert tables like this is to have a program that exports all existing data from the current format and then inserts it back into the new format table(s) - this is not a trivial exercise, especially given that most cluster / pooled tables are quite large.

Hi,
Go to se11
Enter table name -> click display.
In the left corner of the table it will show the type of table.
Ex:-1. For kna1 it will be.
Transparent Table kna1
2. For bseg it wil be
Cluster Table bseg.
3. For t001g it will be.
Pooled table t001g.
Above i have given the example for three types of tables.
For example go to se11 display the table like bkpf after that click on display button.
In application tool bar click on other object button give the table name then click on continue.
Reward points if useful.
