Dear All,

I have got 4 Level Po Release.

A1,A2,A3,A4

Either A1 or A2 Can Release at First Level

or A3 or A4 can Release at Second Level.

Condition is that Second Level can't release Unless until released by first level.

How to Set it in Release Prerequisite. Please guide me?

when u r creating release srtategy that time

1) Release prerequisites should not be checked

2) In second tab Release statuses do the following settings

once in the first tab you haven't check any field so u will get all the possible combination...here base on your reqs u check un chekc the indicator

it will work the way u want

or send me ur Email so i can send you the screen shot

Hi,

If no prerequisite flags are set then the <u>any</u> authoriser can go into the process at any time and in any sequence.

If you want to control the sequence (as you have indicated that you DO) you have to use the prerequisite flags, leaving them blank and controlling the release indicators will ensure that only when the correct people have authorised the document will it be released but this does not control the sequence.

Hi,

I have tried to find a way for you but I have not faound an option.

You cannot carry out complex prerequisites, you can only specify if one release code has to act before another one, you cannot force a sequence such as, if A or B do it then C or D can do it.

But you can control the release indicator in this way, so you can have it so that if A or B have released it and C or D have released it, then release the documnet.

But prequisites are not flexible enough to prevent C or D from seeing it before A or B have released it.

Sorry.

Dear Steve,

Thanks for ur Valuable input. That Means such type of requiremnt isn't possible in SAP??

Hi,

I would NEVER say that something is impossible in SAP, you can get it to do almost anything, but sometimes you should not try to change the system too much..

You could configure the workflow to do this (POSSIBLY) but I am not a workflow expert and so cannot guarrantee that it can do it. The release strategy can determine the actual userids to be used in the process and I THINK that workflow could manage a sequence of events But check with a workflow expert first.

Hi,

Just experiment with the flags, there are only a few of them and you have the release simulation function to try it out easily enough.

You need to indicate that A1 and A2 are pre-requisites of A3 and A4.

On the line with A1 leave it blank

on the line with A2 leave it blank

On the line with A3 flag A1 and A2

On the line with A4 flag A1 and A2

this should work.

Hi Rahul,

In the release prerequisites dont tick anything

In the release status,do the following

A1 A2 A3 A4 Status

Blocked

X Blocked

X Blocked

X Blocked

X Blocked

X X Blocked

X X Blocked

X X Released

X X Released

X X Released

X X Released

Configure like this as per your requirement and try it out.
