Scrap variance quantity is actual scrap - not difference of planned and actual scrap

Dear Gurus,

we have 2 materials in the same plant and similar Settings in material master- Of course BOM and work plan are different. Both have assembly scrap in the material master. Order type, pland and so on are the same. Still for 1 kind of materials the calculated scrap variance is always based on the actual scrap quantity, not the difference between planned and actual scrap. I tested every possible Scenario for both materials... posted scrap within the confirmation, posted less yield quantity without scrap, with scrap..... every time for 1 material calculated scrap variance is based on the difference between planned and actual scrap. But for the other material it is based on actual scrap quantity, in any case.

What may cause this different system behaviour? Of course the work plan is different for both materials. But I checked them and there is no operation scrap planned in one of these plans...

I appreciate every idea or hint from your side! Many thanks in advance!

Sandra

Are we talking about target version 0 -> standard costing vs. actual costs ... do the costings have the same Content (of course not the same values). What about the origin group and the origin indicator of the target materials? Are both orders in the same state "DELV", "TECO", "CLSD" ...a.s.o.
