Installing printer problem

Hi guys,

I have an issue in installing a USB printer. Could you guys help me in the same.I have given the settings in SPAD.This printer is connected directly to the PC.I need to instal an HP-1000 printer which is connected directly to a PC.The SAP version is ECC 5.0.I have given the device type as HP1200 HP1200 : HP LaserJet 1200 and the device class as Standard printer and the access method as printing on front end computer.i have mentioned the host printer as the share name of the printer.After installing the settings and testing the print while checking in SP01 there is an error generated.What other settings do i need to set in installong this printer.

Doesn't matter which driver you pick in the printer definition but I'd go with SAPWIN or SWIN so that the driver installed on your PC is used. Then for access method choose __DEFAULT for hostname and set the USB printer as the default printer on your PC, otherwise you'll need to select it each time in the print dialog. And I'm sure you already knwo that SAPLPD must be isntalled on the PC and that background usage is not possible with frontend printers (oss note 114426).

I'm still trying to figure out what points are used for around here but anyway thanks for giving them!
