OTR translations transport

hi all,

I have otr short text translations in the yhap_document bsp. i transported the whole bsp to Qsystem and now some of the text is missing. i see all the text correctly in dev and Q r/3-bsp code. but some of them are missing when actually looking at the document in portals or when testing through bsp itself.

did anyone come across this wierd situation? do i have to doanythingelse apart from the transport and activating the bsp?

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks,

manasa

Hi Manasa,

This 'weird' situation does happen sometimes in BSP. What I have noticed is that this generally happens when we move our BSP application to the Quality(or Production) Server with the translations. Initially it works fine with the translations showing. But if you make some changes to the application in the Development server and again transport these changes some translations might go missing!

In such a scenario my suggestion would be to re-transport the translations again.

Hope this information helps!

Hi Saurabh,

I retransported but now some other text is missing. Initially everything seemed tobe working in english in Q when we tested in portuguese some text was missing. So i retransported the missing text again to Q and now a new text is missing. Not sure what will happen if i retransport this recently missing text. we will end up in a cycle with transports to Q.

Moreover, we are maintaining the text in 14 languages worlwide, and each time creating and transposrt the otr for all the languages for so much text is not a practical longterm solution. it is very bad if that is the only solution.

anyways, thanks for the reply and do let me know if you know a new solution/reason.

thanks,

saumya

Hi all together,

But if you make some changes to the application in the Development server and again transport these changes some translations might go missing!

I don´t agree with this, unless there´s some misconfiguration in your system or the basis team has to implement some packages. The BSP development is independent of the OTR-texts. The creation and maintenance of the BSP application cannot influence the apperance or disapperance of OTR-texts. The BSP application is at the end a user of the OTR-texts.

I suggest you Manasa to create an independent transport order with your OTR-Texts (which you have to add one by one, unfortunately). Check first that all texts have been correctly translated.
