channel management configuration transactions

Hello Experts,

we are trying to do a pilot for channel management. Can anybody please give me idea what are the main transactions to configure or what are the key things in channel management?

One more question, Access Control Engine is available in CRM 4.0 or not?

Any help in this regard would be really appreciated.

Best Regards,

Vivek

Hello Tiest,

Thanks very much for the very useful info.

I think CRMM_CSDR_PROD_MAIN is only for High Tech Industry. Actually I am too confused with the whole concept of Channel Management. I know well about Channel Sales for High Tech Industry (sell-in), channel inventory etc. having worked on High Tech industry project but if I have to configure Channel Management for a non-High Tech Industry scenario are there transactions available in channel management to configure for accesses & roles. A raw method for implementing these would be to use Authorization objects & portal roles accesses. I was interested in whether there is some standard transactions provided by SAP for Generic Channel Management.

One thing I could definitely see is ACE. I have to make use of it & I am studying it. Other thing is partner profiles. Third thing as you said Accounts & BP.

Since configuration guide and best practices are not available for Channel Management I was trying to device an implementation framework for CHM.

It would be very kind of you to discuss some steps that should be taken to configue for Generic CHM i.e. for non-High Tech Industry scenario. Also I am in desperate need of additional documentation on this. Any kind of configuration document or framework document is needed.

If you could help me with these things in anyway I would be much grateful.

Thanks & Best REgards,

Vivek

Vivek, I see where you are coming from so let me outline the various area's relevant to CM and require specific configuration:

<i>Business Partners and Relationships</i>

Business Partner entities Channel Partner and End User are introduced. For channel partner additional configuration on marketing attributes, CP classification, and partner programs. For end user the OOB functionality requires CP to create a separate enduser account they have a relationship with.

<i>Sales Documents</i>

Introduction of Channel Lead, and Opportunity. Also configuration required for Sales Order and Order-on-Behalf function.

<i>Internet Sales Component</i>

Catalog configuration for Channel Management and Collaborative View. Also XML catalog download functionality for CP becomes available.

<i>Specific Configuration</i>

CM Sales functionality for Transmission Mgmt, Resale and Claim Mgmt, and Sales/Billing. Specific functionality for Pharma Industry: Chargeback, DEA, HIN and Group Rostering.

Hope this helps will sent some information to your email as well. Close the item if you have all info you need and open specific posts when you see fit. I'll be looking, Tiest

Hi Vivek/Rob,

We need some help with a very sepcific HTCM Sell-In scenario. We could manage to create some Sell-In records that are appearing in Table CMSD_SI. But these records are not appearing in teh 'Sell-In processing' t-code CMS_SI with the below message shown:

"Some Records have failed the authorization check".

We could not resolve through the day despite several Authorization Role assignments. Even ST01 Authorization Trace yielded no results.  We also found a relevant SAP Note (1708766) and applied the same but with no results.

Would appreciate any direction towards resolution of this issue.

Also, since i am fairly new to the HTCM, request to share any relevant config documents for the same.

Thanks & Regards,

Vartika

Vivek, I can assure you the ACE is available and working in CRM 4.0. I have configured it for my Channel Management assignment I am currently working on. Main transactions you might want to look at are not that many. Most of the additional functionality is in BP functions (Channel Partner) and it's classification. Then the PC-UI application for Channel Management, application CRMM_ACCOUNT_CHM_CHP. The from a portal perspective you also need to configure the ISA B2B Solution to process orders and quotes. Couple of CM specific transactions you might want to look at: CMS_SI_ALL_SI, COMM_PCAT_ADM, COMM_PCAT_PROFILE, COMM_PCAT_EXPORT, and CRMM_CSDR_PROD_MAIN. Let me know if you need mnore information. Kind regards, Tiest.
