Alert not working?

I have configured alerts.. But Alert is not getting sent to my alert box or email id..

When I execute SXMSALERT_LOGREADER report, I get the following message,

<i>Alert Category Ztest in rule zrule not yet confirmed. Skip creation of new Alert.</i>

I don't have any messages to confirm in ALERT inbox.. What should I do? Do I need to change something in alert configuration?

    alerts will disappear from your alert inbox after their expiration time even if you did not confirm them. So use transaction ALRTDISP to display all alerts of your category, check their status and delete the ones which are not confirmed.
