Hello,
we asked this question a while ago but haven't got any help so this is another try.
We're trying to upgrade the existing MaxDB installation using the "upgrade"-option in the installer. Everyone works smooth till the installer tries to bring the instance to ONLINE.
There the installation crashes.
I attached the SDBSETUPmsg file and a screenshot.
Would highly appreciate some help as this is a big blocker for us.maxdb-1.pngsdbsetupmsg1646311581log.txt
Thank you very much for your help,
Christoph
Hi,
after some offline discussions we finally nailed down the problem to a new MaxDB bug with outdated catalog objects.
The problem will be solved with one of the next MaxDB patches.
Here is the link to the ticket in our problem tracking system with the details:

Kind regards
Holger

Hello Holger,
Thanks a lot for your effort and time!
I also found a hint in a previous post from a colleague of mine who asked the same question as I did some time ago. Here a guy named Ralf Wahlen answered:
"Check that SAP Note out!
dbmcli -d <SID> -u control,<pwd> load_systab -u superdba,<pwd> -ud
domain
dbmcli -d <SID> -u control,<pwd> load_systab -u superdba,<pwd> -m
Update scheitern.
That was our error in 2012 during the upgrade of the DB. Try to solve!"
My problem is, that with a regular user account I cannot access the mentioned "note".
Would it maybe possible to just get a copy of this note. Maybe this fixes the problem already.
We are not using any DB procedures or functions in the database. In fact our structure is pretty simple. What we use are sequences but this is the fanciest we have I would say,.
Yes, it would of course also be possible to get a backup of the database.
Maybe we could get in touch via mail so I don't have to publish my database here? What do you say?
I am so thankful for any help I can get!
Christoph
