Enhance Report MB52

Is it recommended/safe to modify Standard Tcode MB52? We would like to add Material Group 1-5 into column in MB52 report.

It is OK to do some enhancement for MB52 report.

I have ever worked in a global rollout SAP project of pharmaseutial industry. There was some enhancement in the MB52 report, to display the batch related SLED/Date of manufacture and other important characteristics defined in batch master data. Thus business team can see those batch characteristics value in the report MB52.

For those enhancement, please make sure to have fully testing to reduce the risk.

We used SAP S/4HANA version 1909. Is there a problem if we update to the latest version after do an enhancement in report MB52?

would it be a possibility to develop a view on MB52 using a Fiori app? I would then check this option as this could be the best way to get a solution. You could use the Fiori app (https://fioriappslibrary.hana.ondemand.com/sap/fix/externalViewer/#/detail/Apps('MB52')/S10OP ) and develop an in-App extensibility (https://www.sap.com/documents/2018/05/606d1ee8-037d-0010-87a3-c30de2ffd8ff.html ).
