Cancel reconciliation date applied

Hi

When I cancel a manual reconciliation it automatically cancel on the date I cancel it not on the original reconciliation date?

Originally reconciled with May date, cancelled the reconciliation in July, and then re-reconciled it with a May date. But the cancellation date auto applied to July, my May report pulls the 2 transaction that got re-reconciled in May.

Shouldn't the cancellation of the reconciliation be on the original recon date?

Hi,

There is no settings which is different which brings the date option when cancellation is performed.

In your first case, user seems to have not canceled the Reconciliation from the Manage Previous Reconciliation window but directly canceled the Journal Entry. When the Journal Entry is canceled directly, the associated Reconciliation is reversed on the current date.

Please check the same in the DEMO Data with similar documents and dates and just cancel the Manual Journal Entry and not the reconciliation from Manage Previous Reconciliation and you will have the similar result.

Hi,

When you try to cancel any reconciliation, it will give two option to select the date for posting of cancellation.

A) Original Reconciliation Date

B) Current System Date

If you have cancelled any document from the reconciliation, the working would be different.

Once, cancellation has been added in current system date and not on original document date, even if user re-creates the reconciliation in original dates, it will display in Report as it checks for maximum reconciliation date and in this case it is July and not May anymore.

I hope it clarifies.

Hi Jitin,

No, when I cancel the the May reconciliation, it did not ask for original or current date.
When I open the reconciliation I like to cancel, I click on cancel reconciliation it goes ahead and cancels, with the date "today's" date.

On my other company, it does not do that. I just don't know what setting is different.
On my other company:

  1. I reconciled transaction in July (#41751)
  2. In Sept, I cancel that reconciliation(#42943) done in July and the reconciliation is closed in July
  3. Re-reconcile the transactions back in July(#42945)
