Alternate Date of Manufacture for Batch Record

Hello Experts,

Scenario: The manufacturing process has 2 Packing operations, one for Vacuum Packing the product and another for packing into sleeves and corrugated boxes. These two operations do not happen on the same day. The final GR happens only after the confirmation of the Manual packing process i.e. Packing Operation two.

Also the product has a short Shelf life (3-7 days) so every day counts.

Is there a way to capture the confirmation date of the Vacuum Packing step i.e. Packing Operation one and pass it as the DoM to the batch master record?

Regards,

Dexter

Hello Dexter,

Please wait for some other expert to revert on this query or as suggested above you may need to reach out to your ABAP team to write the custom logic for batch expiry date

Hello Dexter,

You can consider changing the master data setup of the recipe or routing .

Operation 0010 - Vacuum packing --- Assign the control key with Auto goods receipt

Operation 0020 -packing into sleeves and corrugated boxes --Assign the control key without Auto goods receipt.

with the help of this setup, you can enter the batch expiry date in operation 0010 and declare production.

If this setup is not applicable to your business process, you may need to reach out to your technical team to implement custom logic

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Amit

Hi Amit,

FIrst of all, thank you for your response.

What you suggested was my initial solution. But then the system would show inventory in SAP while physically they were WIP. This created serious issues and we had to revert this change.

From what I gather from your response, I have no choice but to look for an ABAP based solution?
