Error Whilst Trying to Remove Contact Person From Business Partner Master Data.

Hi,

Hope everyone is having a nice Monday!

Essentially I am trying to remove a 'contact person' from the Business Partner Master Data form. The reason being that that person no longer works at that company.

I am receiving this error message:

'You cannot remove contact person 'John Smith', this person is used in sales quotation'.

From my investigating this on these forms, it seems that the contact person really cannot be removed without deleting the Sales Quotations associated with them. Is there really no way to remove people who change jobs from the Business Partner Master Data? That seems a bit strange?!

Surely there should be some way to at least hide this kind of data from Users? (Even if the row must remain in the underlying SQL table).

Thanks,

Alex

The only option is using DTW, you can update contact person for sales quotation.

Sorry, in the previous comment I meant 'amend' not 'delete'.

I'm not deleting Sales Quotations, only amending them to show a different 'contact person'.

Thanks,

Alex

Is there no faster/more convenient way of doing this?

It seems very strange if the only way to do this is to go through and individually delete every single Sales Quotation linked to this particular employee? Is there no method of speeding up the process? There are a lot of Sales Quotations associated with this particular (former) employee.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi,

Assign new contact person in sales quotation and then remove the old contact person from the BP master data.
