SLD Versus XS

Hello:

I know that you can schedule backups in the System Landscape Directory (SLD) for SAP Business One 9.3 PL06.

But, the SLD backs up only the Business One company databases.

So, likely, we will have to use XS. In so doing, what are the important Business One databases to back up?

Thank you!

John

Hi John,

Irrespective of the method used, you should backup all (production) company databases, and SBO-COMMON. Company Databases preferably daily. SBO-COMMON once a week or even month will suffice, as it only critical to have a backup that corresponds to your B1 version.

I don't know about methods other than SQL Server Management Studio, but in most cases backups "older than" will not be removed automatically. If you have a lot of and/or large company databases, you may get a nasty surprise at some point when your server's storage is full, and your system crashes. I recommend that you check, and add the necessary step to the process, to make sure that you only store the necessary number of days worth of backup files.

Regards,

Johan

Hi John,

Using RSP,

1.You can backup both database as well as instance backup.

2. RSP will remove old instance backup while creating new backup. Hence there is no space issue problem.
